About Us

Mandy, Duncan and Sophie have made Brittany their home and want to share it with you, so you too can experience the beauty and tranquillity of the region.

La Maison Des Chenes is an old farm house and its barns that we have lovingly restored not only to welcome you, our guests but also to call home - nothing is too much trouble, we are here to make your holiday a beautiful lasting memory.

La Maison Des Chenes

We bought the property back in 2004, and named it La Maison Des Chenes ( The house of Oak Trees ) its not hard to determine why when you see the trees that surround the land and look at the structure of the buildings with their beautiful oak beams.

Having taken holidays in france ourselves before our move we wanted to provide a gite where our guests would feel comfortable and at home. This has always been the basis of our business, we want you to enjoy your stay, have a BBQ if you wish, lie in till lunchtime, drink wine under the stars and relax.

The gites are spacious and well equipped with kitchen wares, bedlinen, towels, satellite TV and wifi access.

Each gite has an outside dining area and BBQ with access to the above ground pool.

The village of Gael is a couple of minutes drive away, or take a more leisurely bicycle ride on one of the many bicycles available at the gite. The village has restaurant, bar, post office, mini supermarket, hairdresser and an English speaking Doctor if required.

The towns of St Meen Le Grand and Mauron have a further selection of restaurants and bars and large supermarkets and shops.

A large market is held in the medieval city of Josselin on a Saturday, lending also an opportunity to visit the chateux and Church Notre Dame.

Sundays and the market is hosted in Plelan le Grand on the doorstep of the mysterious and enchanting Broceliande Forest.
